Afterblight Chronicles: Omnibus
by Simon Spurrier, Rebecca Levine, & Al Ewing
Abbaddon Books, $12.99, 621 pp
Release Date: June 14, 2011
Here be a volume of violence and strangeness. The Omnibus edition contains The Culled by Simon Spurrier, Kill or Cure by Rebecca Levene and Death Got No Mercy by Al Ewing.

The Cull had made an apocalyptic ending to life as we knew it. Now there is war to establish what will rule and the few that will try to rebuild must first become monsters to defeat the armies. The question of who will win depends on playing one against the other and the drugs floating availability.

The three stories are full of action and gore and reasonably well-written. Cade in Death Got No Mercy is particularly well-drawn, but the world of this book is depressing because of the possibility of some version becoming reality. It holds the reader's interest throughout the volume and is worth the read even if the premise is scary - so horror readers rejoice. ~~ Pam Allan
