The Sharing Knife: Legacy
by Lois McMaster Bujold
Harper, $7.99, 348 pp
Release Date: September 27, 2011

Legacy is book two of The Sharing Knife..

Ill chance brought Fawn and Dag together, but love joined their fates. Fawn’s family has grudgingly accepted their unorthodox marriage but Dag's kin are more prejudiced. The couple’s future with the Lakewalkers is in doubt with the threat of exile looming when a vicious malice attack calls the patrollers, and Dag, out before a decision is made,

When Dag returns, calls for his and Fawn’s exile by his own family causes his assets from a lifetime of patrolling to be frozen with control in his family’s hands leaving them with only Fawn’s possessions still theirs. A few friends gather a collection and save Dag’s vicious horse for the wounded ex-patroller to ride. His other 40 horses are claimed by the brother who demanded his exile. This triggers the changes in their world and new talents as a maker.

As usual, Bujold writes a beautiful book with world building, character development and plotting as perfect as one can find. Long may she write. I have to have them all. ~~ Pam Allan .
