Poul Anderson is the author of Harvest of Stars.

At the dawning of a new era of space exploration Dagny Beynac, descendant of Anson Guthrie, becomes a heroine of the Lunarian civilization as they struggle to break free of earthly control.

Centuries later, the entire solar system is dominated by a vast network of machine intelligences. On Earth and Luna, what is left of humanity searches for a way to survive in a system that no longer seems to have a place for humanity.

The only solution lies in the past and the life of Dagny Beynac.

This is Great Science Fiction deserving of the homage given to the author. A fascinating and complex world, well-drawn characters and superb plotting, it deals with a future that has planted its seedlings in the present. I could not put it down. You would have to hate hard SF and good writing not to love this book and reread it multiple times. An SF must-have. ~~ Pam Allan
