In 2195, New Victoria is high tech nation modeled on the mores of 21st century interpretations of Victorian England. Nora Dearly is not interested in balls, rather she is attracted by the political unrest. When her parents die, she is left at the mercy of a money-grubbing aunt who will marry her off for money. Nora is kidnapped, almost, by zombies who are not on a diet. Rescued by Bram Griswald, a zombie with his mind and body parts, she finds herself gunning down the dead diners and confronting a virus that raises the dead into a zombie army and falling in love with Bram.
