Halo Cryptum The Forerunner Saga
by Greg Bear
Tor, $24.99, 352pp
Release Date: January 4, 2011

From the back cover: 100,000 years ago, the galaxy was populated by a great variety of beings.

But one species--eons beyond all others in both technology and knowledge--achieved dominance.

They ruled in peace but met opposition with quick and brutal effectiveness. They were the Forerunners--the keepers of the Mantle, the next stage of life in the Universe’s Living Time.

And then they vanished. This is their story.

I would say that Greg Bear does an excellent job of writing this book. I have never been disappointed with any of his works.

I enjoyed this so much that I am looking at finding the rest of this series to read. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes military sci-fi. Four out of five stars. ~ CLD
