Sky Dragons is the final book by the late Anne McCaffrey who passed away in 2011.

Pern's best chance to survive thread fall needs replacement dragons which protect Pern from predators, as well as rebuilding candidates for dragon riders. The Weyr travels to a new home on an unexplored island led by a young blue rider who has to gain the respect of other wings. Add in predators, cross-timing and traitors, those against the new traditions and they must find a way to work together to save Pern.

There is plenty of action, and intrigue and the characters are beautifully drawn. I look forward to the future even as I mourn the passing of a Grand Master. ~~ Pam Allan
