This Case Is Gonna Kill Me
by Phillipa Bornicova
Tor, $14.99, 318pp
Release Date: September 4, 2012
This is a debut novel.

The Firm meets the supernatural. The world has changed to where power and politics are in the hands of vampires, werewolves, and elves. Linnet Ellery comes from old Connecticut money. Fostered in a vampire family and fresh out of law school she is starting work with an important law firm. She has all the right credentials but is virtually black-balled before she sets foot in the office. Her boss is killed in front of her by a werewolf that she fought off. As she fights off attacks by improbable means, it becomes obvious there something more to Linnet than just a simple lawyer and she will shake things up.

This is a great debut and I hope for lots more. Bornicova’s characters become part of your life, complete with flaws and the ability to face them, breathtaking action, and, yes, romance. This is almost a new genre. This is definitely one author to collect. ~~ Pam Allan
