The Demon is an e-short story from acclaimed novelist Douglas Nicholas and is listed as #2.5 in his Something Red series falling between The Wicked and Throne of Darkness

Led by the castellan Sir Balthasar, the men of Blanchefontaine, hunt the demon who attacked travelers on their land.

It is hard to say too much about this story without totally spoiling it. It is a quick read and quite gripping. The characters herein are peripheral in the overall series and the main characters do not make an appearance.
