A dystopian novel that wonders what if someone was not only able to manipulate your dreams, but your past and future subconsciously?
Eleanor is about to be taken from her family in the Arrant section of the city of Constance by ”special” agents when a young woman named Phoenix rescues her and whisks her off before she can be taken away by the authorities. And the action is just non-stop as Eleanor, who now calls herself Nora, goes through the hands of the rebellion who want her to stop the kidnapping of folks called “the Defected”. They are the ones who can manipulate dreams on various levels and are wanted by the evil and powerful Dr. Secora who runs everything and has a nefarious plan to utilize their abilities.
You never catch a breath in this book as Nora meets various members of the rebellion and in the process, discovers more about her talents to manipulate not only her subconscious but others, as well. Everyone wants to get their hands on Nora and when she finally gets entangled with the shadowy and nasty Dr. Secorathe results have far reaching effects on everyone.
I couldn’t put this down. It’s a whopper. ~~ Sue Martin
