	The Hobbit: An Illustrated Edition of the Fantasy Classic by J.R.R. Tolkien, adapted by Charles Dixon, illustrated by David Wenzel Random, $20, 144pp Release Date: September 25, 2012
	The Hobbit is perhaps one of the best known fantasy stories in the world. Now, with the release of the first movie in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy, we have a reissue of a 2001 illustrated book, complete with a new cover and six new pages of art work. I freely confess that illustrated (or otherwise) copies of The Hobbit are an ~~addiction~~ hobby of mine. A good friend gave me the original 2001 version of this book over the holidays and, of course, this newer one came for review. So, naturally, I immediately sat down with them side by side to compare. The illustrated story pages themselves seem identical, the colors are lush and they bring Bilbo and the other to life in a wonderful way. The main difference that would seem to account for the six new pages is the art before and after the story pages and, of course, the new cover. I can highly recommend this book for Hobbit fans everywhere and, if you are a true collector, pick up both this one and a copy of the earlier version. ~~ Stephanie L Bannon For more titles by J.R.R.
