The Ten-seconders
by Rob Williams, Dom Reardon, Mark Harrison and others
Rebellion/Simon & Schuster, $20, 144pp
Release Date: November 13, 2012
A story from 2000AD magazine, which was first serialized in 2005-2008. For the newbies, this is the most well-known weekly British science fiction comic book, which has carried Judge Dredd and favors regular cops and soldiers over "American-style "superheroes. This is the theme of this story: what if the superhero "gods" were really ugly alien monsters in disguise who suddenly turn on us and try to wipe out all people? At story's opening, our cities are ruined and the human race almost extinct. It's up to the few resistance fighters - the 10-seconders - to try to save what little is left of the world. ~~Mike Griffin
