Melly loves to play games. All her feline friends want to do, though, is take a nap. So when she doesn't leave them alone, the cats trick her into burying a shoe in the backyard. But the small prank turns into a big problem when Melly falls down the hole . . . and is magically transported to another world!

Melly lands in the middle of a scuffle between a group of knights and a huge monster. But she soon discovers that the grumpy giant isn’t as scary as he looks. And the real menace might actually be the greedy king who has been hunting him and stealing from the townfolk. Melly and the monster escape the knights and they run into a group of kids planning a rescue mission to save the woman who runs their orphanage. She has been thrown into a dungeon by the evil king who is stealing from all the people in the land. Can Melly and Narra, the monster, save the kingdom from the evil king? And will Melly ever find her way back home?

This is a delightful story with beautiful artwork. Melly is the puppy we all wish we had and I can’t wait to dive in to her next adventure. Recommended for both young and adult readers. ~~ Stephanie L Bannon
