The Night Before Christmas
A C is for Cthulhu Holiday Tale
Written by Jason Ciaramella
Illustrated by Joshua Janes
ComixTribe, $19.99, 24pp
Published: January 2022

The Night Before Christmas is a reimagined take on the classic story, set in the world of our favorite C is for Cthulhu characters. It's a colorful board book that is sturdy and durable for all those young cultists out there to enjoy for years to come.

What a fun retelling of the tale, it is. Who can go wrong with lines like:

"As hot slime drips with ooey-gooey grace, the horde of monstrosities squished into place.

They were thirsty for nog, and anxious for loot, crowding around Cthulhu in his red Santa suit."

I'm a big fan of all their books and I can't wait to share this latest one with my four-year-old grandson. He's been enjoying the Counting, Colors & Cthulhu book lately and I know he's going to love seeing Cthulhu in his vibrant Santa suit visiting with H. P. and friends. ~~ Dee Astell
