Boca Daze
by Steven M. Forman
Forge, $25.99, 347pp
Release Date: January 31, 201

This is the third novel in the series following 2009's Boca Knights and 2010's Boca Mournings. It is not necessary to read the first two before reading this book.

Retired Boston cop, Eddie Perlmutter, lives in Boca Raton . He didn’t stay retied long, as he opened a detective agency following his adventures in Boca Knights. He has busted counterfeiters and brought down a neo-Nazi group as well as solving a couple of murders along the way.

This outing sees him taking on the Florida drug markets when an old nemesis from Eddie’s days as a Boston cop asks for help in shutting down the clinic that was responsible for killing his granddaughter. Along with his partner. Leo, he also takes on an investment broker who is running a giant Ponzi scheme.

I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series, the characters are people I would enjoy having as friends, the action is believable and the plots are interesting. I could do without Eddie holding conversation with his penis (and yes his penis talks to him) but overall I can highly recommend this series and look forward to the next installment. ~~ Stephanie L Bannon
