Dangerous Beauty
by Melissa Koslin
Revell, a Division of Baker Publishing Group, $17.99, 245pp
Published: March 2019

A young beautiful Mexican woman escapes from human traffickers and flees to a nearby truck stop with her captors at heels. She encounters a mysterious man who rescues her from her chasers. When she refuses to call police, he does and gets custody of her as the police know him as an anti-trafficker activist. Then inexplicably he marries her, thwarting custody by ICE.

The mystery thickens as the traffickers take risks to recover her. Normally they would just cut their losses and move to a safer prey. Her story does not clarify anything. She tells him that her parents were murdered and she was taken. Apparently the traffickers had an order for one specific woman. Since she was from a tiny village in central Mexico the whole event was a puzzle.

The two spend much time together trying to puzzle it out and fall deeply in love. The twists and turns it takes to unravel the mystery make compelling reading. The book is an excellent suspense novel and a good romance. ~~ Gary Swaty
