AniZona History Early 2004 - the idea of AniZona was born in the minds of Anthony Grutta, David M Hungerford and Jason Bustard 2004 - In July, AniZona Anime Convention Inc became a corporation Easter Weekend 2005 - The First AniZona was held at the Embassy Suites Phoenix North. Guests were Yoshitaka Amano, Katie Bair, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Aaron Dismuke, Nicole B. Gibson, Ya Ya Han, hide-san, Charles Dee Rice, and Travis Willingham Attendance was capped at 850 with approximately 950 people on site including guests, attendees and staff. Easter Weekend 2006 - The Second AniZona was held at the Embassy Suites Phoenix North Guests were Katie Bair, David Beaty, Jodon Bellofatto, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Michael McConnohie, Melodee M. Spevack, Sonny Strait, and Greg Weisman Attendance was capped at 1000 with approximately 1200 people on site including guests, attendees and staff Easter Weekend 2007 - The Third AniZona was held at the Mesa Convention Center Guests were Raymond Abril III, Greg Ayres, Katie Bair, David Beaty, Jodon Bellofatto, Michael McConnohie, Haruka Miyabi, Kenyth Mogan, Yoko Molotov, Melodee M. Spevack, and Amanda Tomasch. Attendance was capped at 1600 with approximately 1900 people on site including guests, attendees and staff May 2007 - The board and members of AniZona Anime Convention Inc voted to dissolve the corporation and donate all funds and assets to WesternSFA with the wish that the AniZona convention continue. At the August 3, 2007 general meeting of WesternSFA the membership agreed to accept the donation and to continue AniZona under certain restrictions.
