Dark Waters
by Alex Prentiss
Bantam, $7.99, 291 pp
Release Date: December 28, 2010

Dark Waters is by the author of Night Tides.

Rachel Matre runs a diner in downtown Madison , Wisconsin . At midnight she skinny-dips with spirits that dwell in a lake nearby who provide her erotic needs.

When a greedy developer summons another force from the depths with a dark agenda, murder ensues. The hunt for the killer plunges Rachel into the ultimate mystery where the solution will emerge out of pain and a passion for the truth. A failure to reach the solution can result in her death and a release of Evil into the world.

This is basically a supernatural romance with a new cast of bad guys without a nice werewolf or vampire in the bunch. The main characters are well-drawn, the contemporary world believable. If you are looking for a change of pace in your romance, this could be worth your while and expenditure. ~~ Pam Allan
