Lorena had cured the plague killing the dragons, but lost her queen dragon in doing so. But now there not enough dragons left to fight thread, and Lorena takes drastic steps to save the dragons and Pern from threadfall. If her plan works, Pern survives, but the plan involves tampering with the laws of time and altering history forever. In bending time, she is willing to take the chance to save Pern even if it costs a greater sacrifice.

This collaboration is working, though many do not. They have found a mutually fitting way of continuing not only the world and characters of Pern but the spirit that brings a classic series forward with the reader wishing for more.
