Here is a test. Check all of the following that you like:
Tom Swiftian adverbs
Pagan holy days
Chimeras, especially cute baby ones
Heroic young half-elfs
Quests for vengeance
Wise, mysterious mentors
Artifacts of awesome power
The Eye of Argon
The more of these you checked, the more you will find in this book to ring your chimes.
It’s rather like the Batman TV show with Adam West and Burt Ward, or Dark Shadows.
The aptly named youthful protagonist, Dark, had a happy childhood, with loving parents and a wise grandfather. But in the wake of treachery and betrayal, he sets out to find the magical power and alliances he will need to bring doom to the ones who slew his elf mother and demon father.
The adventure ends on a rising note, demanding and promising more as Dark approaches the city that is home to his enemies. No sign of Part 2 of the Saga yet, but as the book won 2nd place in The Written Arts Awards, Crawford is probably at work on it now. Will Dark find his foes in Duergar? Can he defeat them? Or will he join his progenitors in a dark afterlife? To find out more, tune in tomorrow, same Dark Time, Same Dark channel…. ~~ Chris R. Paige
