God Seed is by the author of Ice Station Zombie.

Cy Tiller thought his posting to McMann station would be a bore until an alien artifact, the God Seed, emerges from the rift and starts toying with his mind. When the station is destroyed for possession of the God Seed, Cy is caught up in a conspiracy involving the United Block space navy, the Vatican , and the alien race at war with earth, the Laconii. This soon becomes a race to prevent the destruction of earth. Following clues in an ancient tellurian prophecy, Cy, and his companions must stop the renegade priest from releasing God from his eons-old prison.

With better character development, and coherent action, this is a much better book than Ice Station Zombie. It is worth the read, and I look forward to seeing how the author continues to grow. ~~ Pam Allan
