Disenchanted by Lucy Jane Wood is a fairytale romance, cozy and loving. While it is a warm story filled with friends and family, the narrative delves into the trauma of Sage's losses and that trauma leading her to withdraw from magic. I love how the story develops the mystery of the fairytale magic and how Sage solves the issue even while she finally learns to forgive herself and embrace whimsy, love, and magic.

The secondary characters, Casimir and Sage's brother and sister, and her friend Maggie are all wonderfully supportive but challenge Sage in her stubborn ideas. As matters escalate, it is her love for her family and friends that lead her to solving the mystery of fairytale magic and learning to love herself. I love the themes of friendship and loss woven into this novel.

If you love cozy fairytale romance books, Disenchanted by Lucy Jane Wood is a delightful read. I loved the previous two books in the series and this one continues the pattern in the same loving fashion. Set with a different couple, this book can be read as a stand alone but will be more enjoyable if you've read the others. I love the warm friendship, the romance but also the heroines finding their path and strength despite trauma in their past. I highly recommend Disenchanted.
