In Twelve Months, Jim Butcher takes the readers on an emotional journey as he takes you through the aftermath of battles previously fought in Chicago. It still conveys Harry's trademark humor and sass but it is also about Harry taking the time to slowly advance through his grief and loss. But with that journey, we also get the trademark fast-paced action and unforeseen events that must be dealt with including the outcome for Thomas.

What I love is that Jim Butcher takes a universe that is known for urban fantasy and action, slowing down to wrap up the emotions that all of us felt from the previous books in the series. I love the attention to details and the way that new characters emerge but also that nothing is forgotten.

If you love the Dresden files and Jim Butcher's writing, you will love this latest installment. It is by far the most emotional of his books and is delving into plotlines we have barely seen before. I can't wait for more from this highly skilled and brilliant storyteller. The story is beautiful and an emotional journey that I loved.
