Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences #3: Dawn s Early Light
by Pip Ballantine and Tee Morris
Ace, $7.99, 384pp
Publication Date: March 25, 2014
Book three in the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series; this story follows Phoenix Rising and The Janus Affair. (Click title for review)

Sent to the States in to get them out of the limelight after the events of the previous book, our heroes, Eliza Braun and Wellington Brooks, are looking forward to the chance to prove themselves as agents. A simple mission intended to keep them out of trouble abruptly turns into a much larger and involved case that has connections reaching as far as the Queen and a threat known only as Maestro. Helped by two American agents from the Office of the Supernatural and Metaphysical, the duo set out to investigate a series of airship disappearances off the coast of North Carolina and find that their chief suspect is Thomas Edison.

This is just as fast-paced and delightful as the previous two. We start with action as Braun and Brooks chase a thief on the airship carrying them to America and the story roars along from there with action, witty dialogue. I heartily recommend the whole series. ~~ Stephanie L Bannon
