Dee Astell aka Countess Chaos was the chair of LepreCon 45 and CoKoCon 2019. She also Chaired Westercon 70 and LepreCon 43 in 2017.  She is the Chair for CokoCon 2021 and LepreCon 48 (2022)

She's a regular face at many conventions, including Wild Wild West Con, at which she’s the fashion show manager.

She’s held the title of Steampunk Event Coordinator for a variety of conventions: Phoenix Comicon, Phoenix Fan Fest, LepreCon, DarkCon, FANtasm. She is very passionate about her Steampunk.

Dee also runs a host of maker workshops including teacup headband fascinators, stylish lapel pins, along with frames, trinket boxes and Steampunk weaponry to name a few.

She’s the founding director of the Arizona Penny Dreadfuls, a Victorian oddities group, which was her brainchild.

She is also the Arch Priestess of Chaos for the First United Church of Cthulhu.

She is an avid Penguin, antique clock and Lighthouse collector and has created several cabinets of curiosity for her enjoyment.

Most of all, Dee is a mother of 3, and a doting grandmother, (with 3 foster granddaughters recently added, bringing the total to 9 grandchildren.)  She lives with her eccentric English hubby, Hal and a menagerie of critters.
