ART SHOW



Needs:


Computer and email access

Organizational skills

Communication skills

People skills

Money handling skills

Patience

Time Needed Pre-Con - 1-2 hours weekly

Time Needed At Con - Full time



PRE-CON


Determines layout for Art Show area - turns in to Hotel Liaison

Handles requests for space - either panels or table

Co-ordinates with Banker to determine artist show participants have paid for their space

Collects signed paperwork from all art show participants

Makes arrangements to handle shipments of art from non-attending artists

Makes arrangements to safely transport art work to convention

In consultation with the Chair and Banker, determines if sales will be direct sale only or if an auction will be held.

If auction is decided upon, determines, in coordination with Chair, Banker and programming, if it will be silent auction only or is a Sunday voice auction will be held.

If voice auction is to be held recruits auctioneer.

Co-ordinates with Industry committee person for needed prizes, ribbons, awards, certificates, etc



AT-CON


Is present during Art Show set up

Supervises unpacking and hanging of art mailed in

Supervises hanging of art work by artist’s who are present

Determines if art work etc is appropriate

Is either personally present or has senior staff present at all time the Art Show is open

Handles direct sales of art work (collects money, keeps proper records)

Is present during opening and closing each day

Is present during final tear down on Sunday to supervise packing of unsold mailed in art work



POST-CON


Provides report of Art Show participants with contact info for the organization’s records

Mails unsold art work back to artist

Meets with Banker within two weeks to create pay out checks to artist (shows up to meeting with original paperwork, plus 2 copies (1 for artist, 1 for Banker) and addressed, stamped envelope and mails payments to artists

Turns over all signed waivers and contracts to Banker
