Job Descriptions

COSPLAY / MASQUERADE


Needs:

Computer and Internet access
Communication Skills
People skills
Organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Staff of 3 judges
Staff of “den mommies, stage ninjas”
Staff of tech people
Time Needed Pre-Con - 1-2 hours weekly
Time Needed At con - 12-16 hours


PRE-CON

Creates and/or approves cosplay rules
Provides rules to web master for inclusion on web site
Creates sign up form for all Cosplay entries
CLEARLY states limit on number of entries, deadlines etc.
Coordinates with Banker and registration to make sure all participants are members of AniZona
Recruits judges
Recruits MC
Recruits tech assistance, either on own or in co-ordination with Tech committee person
Co-ordinates with programming on time needed for judging and pre-cosplay walk tech walk thru
Arranges “half-time” entertainment for pause during judge’s deliberations
Creates lay-out for cosplay in coordination with programming and gives it to Hotel Liaison no later than 8 weeks pre-con
Co-ordinates with Industry committee person for needed prizes, ribbons, awards, certificates, etc
Makes sure every entrants signs a waiver


AT-CON

Provides help for judges during workmanship judging in terms of someone to help with paperwork, forms, line control, etc
Sets mandatory pre-cosplay meeting for all participants during which time the participants see stage, tech checks their sound and light needs and the MC can ask any questions about their entry
Determines number of “den mommies” needed and makes sure they show up when contestants start to arrive pre-event
Co-ordinate with security for crowd entry control
Co-ordinate with security for reserved seating for judges, handicapped, press and participants
Enforces time limits on entries


POST-CON

Creates report on number of entries, a winner’s list
Turns over all signed waivers and entry forms to Banker
